Your car powered by diesel engine and you experience rough engine operation, loss of power, poor fuel mileage. All of this are typical symptoms of an injection system clogged up with deposits. Such deposits can be cured with Liqui Moly's Diesel Purge.

But how do cleaning additives work anyway?.
As soon as the engine starts running, deposits begin to form. The consist of partially combusted fuel residues, soot particles from burned oil and other combustion products.
The poorer the quality of the fuel and oil, the quicker and more extensively deposits develop. They lump together and stick to the metal surfaces in the engine, for example on the injection nozzles or piston rings.
These deposits prevent the fuel from atomizing finely in the combustion chamber or prevent it from sealing properly. This results in increasingly poor combustion causing the deposits to develop faster and faster.
Diesel engines' and gas engine's deposits are different, therefore the cleaning process need different type of additives.
On the one hand this is due to the difference in the fuels and on the other to the fact that the combustion process is different in diesel engines. Moreover the Cetan number improver contained in many of Liqui Moly's cleaning additives for diesel engines has the opposite effect in gasoline engines: It reduces the Octane factor.
